San Antonio River Walk
Under the streets of central San Antonio, this riverside walkway is a city centerpiece. The River Walk connects local landmarks through a network of waterside paths, just one level below the traffic. Shops, bars, and restaurants draw crowds all year, and during annual festivals the water fills up with colorful lights and flowery floats.

Do not leave town without going to the Riverwalk.
Do not leave town without going to the Riverwalk. It's much cooler lower than street level. Visit night after Thanksgiving to see all the super tall trees filled with Holiday lights, ride the River boats, catch a river parade, etc. Generally, it's not cold in Fall or Winter until December. Also, Fiesta is a great time to visit! Watch PBS on demand to see Joseph Rosendo's 2 trips to San Antonio!

Boat tours cost money but will let you see more without walking as much. Moat of the restaurants/bars are pricey, but mice and several are unique. Anywhere you park in the city is going to cost you. The Riverfront mall has a parking garage with options based on time and can be a better deal depending on where you are going. Most parking areas are not cast, they are pay by phone.

Head towards the "Museum Reach" area of the River Walk to The Pearl. There are lots of good restaurants there and shopping. Past The Pearl you will find the Witte Museum and the Smoke Shack. Both are worth your time. A good place to eat along the River Walk is Ocho and Tre Trattoria (which is attached to the San Antonio Art Museum).

the River Walk is great - but crowded.
the River Walk is great - but crowded. If you go in the summer, prepare to sweat profusely. Besides being hot, it is also so humid you'll feel like you just got out of a shower. Also, if you are drinking, remember there are very few guard rails along the river walk, so be careful not to get too tipsy and fall in!

The hotel was right on the River Walk. Great location. Beds were so comfortable. Breakfast each day was very good. The staff was helpful. Mina is an exceptional person- attending to all guests with kindness. A treat for us each day was a staff member making iced lattes for us after a long day out sightseeing.
What I like about the facility is the breakfast. They have variety of breakfast food you can choose from. I also like how the hotel isn’t too far from the river walk, it was only 15 minutes away.
Great location, close to river walks and across from HEB
Convenient parking
The window curtains actually blocked the light from the outside (unlike many hotels)
Well insulated, we couldn’t hear any noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms
I think this hotel is great! If you’re not wanting the crazy busyness of The River Walk this is a perfect place. They have a shuttle to take you to The River Walk too! And the drivers they have a wonderful!!!! Like having a mini tour with each ride. We really were happy that we chose this hotel. The complimentary cookies are a nice touch too! Loved having the restaurant there as well!
Very clean, comfortable room, but the outside demo work was a bit noisy. But not enough to be disturbing. We slept like little babes. The hotel is beautiful, and a historical treasure, closely located to the River Walk and the Alamo. We'll stay again next visit to St. Tony
I love that the valet and front desk greeted us by name that was a major plus. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. The building was stunning for being a older hotel everything was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable as well ! The location was perfect go out the back door of the hotel you are on a short walk to the Alamo and to many river walk entrances we parked the car and never touched it everything was in walking distances.
The Hotel is truly beautiful and charming. The staff was very friendly, parking is cheaper than most other hotels in San Antonio. Above all, this is not one of the big chains and it shows in the uniqueness of the rooms (e.g. nice bathrobes, fully stocked fridge/minibar, beautiful decor).
It’s located very conveniently on the river walk, just a short walk from the center and far enough away to be quiet.
